Initial visit to shop to arrange an appointment was left with me being told I would be contacted by phone but never was. Appointment finally made and representative from store attended to measure for a carpet in mothers kitchen. He envisaged no problems and work would be carried out either the week before or week after Easter.I asked for the earliest possible appointment as wanted the work done while my mother was in hospital Never heard a thing over the two weeks so visited the store again to book an appointment for Monday 16th April but still wanted an earlier appointment if possible. Although appointment made received a phone call the next day to book an appointment. Why?. Visited store again to make a part payment and I think the store manager was concerned that it might not be possible for the carpet to be fitted in the kitchen.An issue I said she should address with the estimator. I never received any further communication from anyone to confirm one way or the other that the work could be done.Appointment never brought forward but work was fortunately to be the day before a delayed hospital discharge except when fitter arrived said he couldn't fit the carpet as all his tools had been stolen recently from his van including a door trimmer which he needed to complete the job. Date had to be re-arranged so someone he knew could come and trim the doors which subsequently has been arranged for 4 days after the original agreed date and after my mother's discharge from hospital. He also mentioned that when fitting the carpet there might be a problem with the carpet being fitted up against some beading against the skirting board something never mentioned by the estimator. Question: what would you do? Cancel the order or let the work go ahead and never use Carpet Right again? I feel sorry for those carpet right staff who are about to lose their jobs but if my experience is an example of the standards set by this company then inevitably in the long run jobs will be lost.
AVOID THIS COMPANY! Save your money and your sanity and go somewhere else. I have never in all my life as a consumer been so badly treated and let down by a company. 3 months, 6 no sows , 4 store visits, hours on hold, 10 + non returned calls, the wrong carpet, the wrong bars, no bars, damaged walls, ripples in the carpet and a carpet join that is so bad it looks like a child did it. They have offered me 200 of free underlay when the carpet cost almost 1000 for one room. Or they will take it up and give me my money back. They should be ashamed of themselves!
Absolutely FANTASTIC, first-class service from Carpetright London-Whetstone. The Manager, Patrick was very professional, bright and accommodating, and his sales team with Michelle, Clive and including the very amenable and courteous Kingsley who took care of me, were wonderful.
